The Mormons were a religious group who went west to find religious freedom. They believed in Christ and they were almost exactly like the Christian religion except that they had saints. Many Americans tried to attack them because they thought the Mormons were crazy that god sent them messages so they started to try to flee up to Alaska (which sounds crazy because its freezing there). It was tough for them to travel because they were poor. Instead of using wagons they used hand carts which were cheaper. Later they needed more members so they spread there religion throughout America. One day finally they found a good spot to settle in Utah. They made a few cities like Salt Lake City and so from then on they were almost never bothered again. Today there are still many Mormons in Utah and all over the world.
